A Compact Pattern Reconfiguration Antenna Based on Multimode Plane Spiral OA

Over the past decades, orbital angular momentum (OAM) has attracted great interest due to its helical phase characteristics. It been proved that plane spiral OAM (PSOAM) waves have a potential in azimuthal pattern reconfiguration. PSOAM could be termed as special form of wave, which avoids inconsistency divergent angles for different waves. However, from practical point view, such PSOAM-based reconfiguration scheme badly needs compact high-purity multimode antenna. In this communication, eight-mode antenna consisting coaxial resonator group (CRG) and rotating parabolic reflector (RPR) is fabricated measured. The prototype designed X-band operation with bandwidth 140 MHz, simulated efficiencies modes ±1, ±2, ±3, ±4 are 88.86%, 92.18%, 90.93%, 91.25%, respectively. constructed may directivity, vorticity, nondistortion 360° scanning capability. This realizes these characteristics simpler algorithm lower system complexity compared phased array antenna-based scheme. will next-generation radar wireless communication system.
